New HIE Platform is Launching Soon
Rochester RHIO (RRHIO), in partnership with HEALTHeLINK, our Health Information Exchange (HIE) counterpart in Buffalo, will transition from Explore+ to a new clinical query platform, Fusion, in late July.
Once the transition is complete, users will be able to access patient medical records across the Western New York, Finger Lakes, and Southern Tier regions.
Also in late July, HEALTHeLINK will assume support for Rochester RHIO participants from our 14-county service area.
HEALTHeLINK successfully transitioned its Buffalo-region participants to Fusion earlier this year and is well positioned to support RRHIO participants going forward. As we approach the transition, our teams will work closely with Rochester RHIO participants to ensure a smooth transition to support from HEALTHeLINK.
This effort is part of a broader statewide initiative led by the Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY), New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC), and other partners to streamline infrastructure and share services, reduce duplication, and make the best use of healthcare resources.
Key updates
- Onboarding Pause: Onboarding of new portal users to the Rochester RHIO portal will end June 29. Instructions on setting up users in the new Fusion portal will be sent soon.
- Account Setup: In July, portal users will receive an email with instructions to create a new user account for the Fusion platform. As part of setup, users will be prompted to provide their date of birth to support account recovery.
- Two-factor Authentication: HEALTHeLINK will use Duo, which is already used by more than half of Rochester RHIO participants. Users will be prompted to install the Duo Mobile App. User guides will be provided to assist with set up of Duo accounts.
- Training Opportunities: Daily training webinars will begin in mid-July and continue through August.
- Ongoing Updates: We will provide regular updates on the transition progress and upcoming training opportunities.
- Continued Commitment: We remain committed to delivering excellent services and maintaining the highest standards of data security throughout the transition.
