RHIO Spotlight: Pembroke Family Medicine
In today’s world of healthcare, high-quality medical care is standard and the Rochester RHIO supports providers, both large and small, in enhancing administrative workflows and efficiencies to improve healthcare delivery. The RHIO helps provide a more complete picture of patients by linking offices, labs, hospitals, and other providers. In Genesee County, Pembroke Family Medicine, an independent, care provider, has been using MyResults Delivered, one of RHIO’S growing services, for over seven years. HIPAA Officer and IT Coordinator Ian Will says the MyResults Delivery service through the RHIO “is an integral part of our office.”
The MyResults Delivery service is especially helpful to independent, providers who want to use less paper, log into less portals and use more dynamic data to create reports. Providers, like Pembroke Family Medicine, receive results from across RHIO’s 13-county RHIO service area.
Ian says Pembroke Family Medicine receives MyResults “in a timely electronic format,” which auto populates into their practice’s EHR.
“(It) saves staff time and helps us provide better care to our patients, faster,” said Ian.
There are over 275 practices using 25 vendors who are already connected with the RHIO for this service. The RHIO also works with participating practices to filter nonessential data – such as preliminary results – to meet requirements unique to each practice. In some cases, providers use MyResults Delivered to meet “Meaningful Use” requirements. In addition, Image Enabled Result Delivery allows providers to receive images associated with radiology reports through an embedded link.
Pembroke Family Medicine is certified at the highest level by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), according to their website. The organization has two office locations, Batavia and Pembroke, and is opening a third office in the town of Alexander
