Rochester RHIO Part of JAMIA study
Rochester RHIO was featured as part of a scholarly literature review in a recent issue of JAMIA (Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association) called, "The benefits of health information exchange: an updated systematic review."
The study found that health information exchanges improve patient care and reduce costs. Forty percent of the analysis was from HIEs in New York. Rochester RHIO represented approximately 9 percent of the analysis. The review found that there were several benefits to health information exchanges such as "fewer duplicated procedures, reduced imaging, lower costs, and improved patient safety."
